Well here are various shots all rolled into one collection from 3 days visiting Water Orton and finally managing to snapping a proper shot of 66709 which was on hire to Fastline working 4O90 Doncaster - Thamesport (Grain)

Well even though all these rumours have been circulating about allnighters being banned on thew station etc, I still decided to go and try my luck and ask the station manager personally, her kindly said me and a mate was allowed to do it so here are my efforts from the 23 hours spent there.

Well here are some shots taken from onboard 'The Alloa Alloer' railtour from Bristol Temple Meads (19:43 Sunday) to Barnt Green (23:45 Monday) with haulage from 66074, 37417 + 37422, 60100, 92002, 66187.

Also on the Sunday, I left Birmingham and headed for Derby then to Bristol on the XC HST for some Valenta thrash 43166 and 43104.

Well, as cash is low and I was staying half an hour away from Water Orton, I decided against travelling off to Freight hotspots and just staying in the local area, so here are some random shots from the 3 days I spent here.

Today was spent travelling around London trying out a couple of Freight spots and getting some track done.

Highlight was seeing 56007 at Acton Mainline by surprise.

Today, I went to Aberdeen to see 66237 work 6A31 Mossend - Aberdeen Waterloo.

Also, because 6A67 Aberdeen Waterloo - Laurencekirk was a non runner last Tuesday, it ran today, so 66237 took 5 tanks to Laurencekirk then would return to Waterloo ready to work the next day 6D84 back to Mossend.

Well, today was a few hours at Church Fenton and a couple of hours in York.

Well today I went to Water Orton for the day, arriving at 07:20 and staying until 18:30.

Back to normal now, the day was for videoing but decided to take a few pics too so here you go...

Well today, was a day at Barnetby, but then went off to Knabbs Bridge, Melton Ross.

The weather was superb with full sun all day nearly so I had a day of taking pictures instead of videos, now i'm glad I chose to do this as I am very pleased with the result for my standards anyway...

Well today being a Sunday, northing much really to do, but I thought why not have a bash on the AXC HST with double Valenta's, same as Friday: 43184 + 43007.

So I went down to Bristol to pick them up where I went to Derby to see the 3 Fastline 66s in convoy working 0Z20.

Well today, I bashed the WSMR 67s for the first time and for haulage I had 67014 on the London end and 67013 on the Wrexham end.

Today, I headed down to Birmingham for a week or so, to stay with family and to visit relatives etc like you do, In reality that was not going to happen and every day i'm there, I have something to do or somewhere to go to do with our Railways.

Well I went down to Stirling for the day to see the S-A-K shuttles which was Steam loco 61994 Top N' Tailed Deltic 22.

Also in the morning I saw 6A31 In Aberdeen and on returning from Stirling I stopped off at Arbroath to see a mate and catch 4N85 Aberdeen - Grangemouth DRS Intermodel.

Well the aim of today was me and a mate going to Edinburgh Princess St Gardens for the day and to see D1015 (twice) work a Tame Bridge Parkway - Edinburgh Waverley railtour.

Instead as Princess St Gardens was closed, we decided to head out to Prestonpans to see D1015 then stay for a couple of hours then come back into Waverley and see it leave on the return leg of the railtour 1Z53.

As i'm back at College next week, I thought i'd get out and do something before I go back so what could be better than being at Carlisle all night. I was there for 22.5 hours but I was actually awake for 42.5 hours.

Route:

Aberdeen - Newcastle (43051 + 43319)
Newcastle - Carlisle (156xxx)
Carlisle - Edinburgh (221xxx)
Edinburgh - Carlisle (43057 + 43119)

I had a planned day to go to Edinburgh then to Princess Street Gardens for the day, but when i arrived, it was closed, so decided to try somewhere new and so i headed off to Prestonpans and the day turned out to be brilliant.

I had the day at Water Orton from 07:00 until 19:10, the first time i'd ever properly been and it was brilliant, also only a half an hours walk from where i was staying!

Friday 14th: Aberdeen - Peterborough (3 hour break) with 43056 + 432xx then Peterborough - Birmingham with 170xxx.

Saturday 15th - "Choppington Changer"

Monday 17th - Birmingham - Edinburgh (3 hour break) with 221xxx and Edinburgh - Aberdeen with 43108 + 43xxx.

I decided to go to Aberdeen today to see 37422 on 6A67 09:55 Elgin - Laurencekirk Seed Potatoes in Aberdeen station.

Then a quick dash over to Aberdeen Waterloo to see 66722 leave en route to Dyce where it will run round then go to Ferryhill (just south of Aberdeen station) where the loco would come off and then go into NXEC Clayhills depot to re-fuel, then the loco be put on the front of the train in Ferryhill overnight and head south on 04-03-08.

Well because i didn't have the Internet for two weeks, i did not get a chance to upload pics from a couple of outings i had.

Monday 18th - Arbroath for the day (Also met 'Freightliner66522' as he's known on Youtube/Scot-Rail)

Tuesday 26th - Aberdeen to see GBRf 66722 working 6S60, but then while on the Waterloo branch, the rear 3 Tanks derailed.

Wednesday 27th - Arbroath for the day, again meeting up with 'Freightliner66522'

Went to Aberdeen tonight to see 66712 on the First GBRf Mud-Oil tanks run since mid-December and because it's the first time to my knowledge that a GBRf 66 has visited the Waterloo Freight Only Branch Line. I also saw 37417 stabled in platform 1, 67009 on the Sleeper and 43053 + 43056.

Had an hour or so in Aberdeen today, saw 66102 with 12 Slurry Tanks at Waterloo, 67009 with tonights southbound beds in Clayhills, 43051 + 43108 and 37417 in the Station.

Here are my best efforts from the day.

I went down to Birmingham to stay with family so i could do "The Moor & More" railtour on Saturday 15th December.

Friday 14th: Aberdeen - Peterborough (HST) (3 hour break) - Birmingham New St (170xxx)

Saturday 15th: Railtour - 66170 / 66703 / 92029 / 73205+209 / 90016 / 66158

Monday 17th: Birmingham New St. - Carlisle (7 hour break) - Edinburgh - Aberdeen.

I thought about spending the day in Aberdeen and the Freight scene in the area is now changing drastically with Aberdeen Guild St. closing and moving further north to Raiths Farm, Dyce.
So i tried out a few locations i thought of and to also see the last short distance Freight, Guild St. - Waterloo Tanks, although these did not run, after going into Guild St. depot myself speaking to an EWS driver, they already went on Saturday :( so i read false information. . . but nevertheless i still tried a couple of bridges, a lineside locations and a Multi-Story Car park.
Here is the only decent shots i really got for 7 hours walking around, and i now know not to do this again.

I decided to do another overnighter as it was so good in the summer, of course this time didn't change it was brilliant although abit colder than i imagined. This time though i did go down to Newcastle by HST then a 156 over the Tyne Valley, but returning decided to get a Virgin Voyager straight through to Aberdeen, and doing this i also got to stay at Carlisle longer, was there for 22.5 hours, still not quite 24 yet though.

I had to be up at 04:30, and then take the bus and took the 07:55 off Aberdeen - Newcastle (Arr 13:35) with two Valenta's on it, then the 15:27 Newcastle - Aberdeen (Arr 21:15) with one Valenta , Got home at 22:30, A brilliant day with plenty of Valenta thrash, Also at Newcastle i seen a GNER driver i've got to know and he let me in the cab of a 91.

I went to Aberdeen to get a few shots of 40 145 in it's good looking Large Logo livery, hauling the SRPS Inverness & Speyside railtour, but i nearly didn't get on the platform because the station staff didn't know/believe me that a special was coming through until they give in and just let me through but then kept looking at me every 2 minutes, although they did stop that when the driver turned up, also got speaking to the driver that was taking over the last leg of the tour which was Aberdeen - Linlithgow and he gave me a toot on his departure, Cheers driver. Also i was told that the driver got reprted for jumped accross the track to save walking over the bridge, and so when he went to the signal to phone the signaller, i shouted accross and told him, what do you think i should have done? told him or left it?

This is my third all-nighter in two weeks! i thought i better do a few while the weather is hot but hopefully i'm going back in my october holidays, High point if this over-nighter was a Freightliner driver said to me that he is going to be another 10 - 15 minutes (At a red light) so he asked if i wanted to go in the cab so obviously i did, He let me sit in the drivers seat, Give the engine some throttle while in neutral and get a couple of pictures. Thanks Freightliner driver!

This folder is just for odds and sods that dont have there own each folder for example pictures while on holiday or just out and about and i see a train, just get a picture of it with my mobile or camera if i have it on me.

My second overnighter in a week was again a Wednesday night / Thursday morning. Again did HST Aberdeen - Newcastle then Tyne Valley but on the return on Thursday there was a big power failure just north of Newcastle (I was told by a class 91 driver) and so no electric trains moved north and were cancelled and sent back to London but the HST came in delayed abit, then cancelled but immidietly running again and we got through, which was a good thing. Well here are the pics from the two days so enjoy!

I done my first overnighter at Carlisle - Wednesday night / Thursday Morning, And i loved it, It was brilliant, seen plenty of freight and i didn't get bored at all. I was there from 4pm Wednesday afternoon till 11:30 Thursday morning. The route i took was HST Aberdeen - Newcastle then over the Tyne Valley with a 156 and return the same way.

I had the morning at Rugby and then had to go to the Airport ready to back home to Aberdeen.
